Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce the 2026 Harnessing the Data Revolution (HDR) Ecosystem Conference, themed AI & Science: From Geospatial to Convergence. This annual gathering brings together the five HDR Institutes to share experiences, perspectives, and synergistic activities advancing data-driven science. This year we are also expanding community participation through this call.

Dates: August 5–7, 2026

Location: University of Illinois at Chicago

This year's Conference immediately follows the I-GUIDE Forum, creating a powerful opportunity for attendees to build momentum and explore solutions to the most significant scientific challenges.

CALL FOR POSITION PAPERS

We invite submissions of position papers (~500 words) on topics that include, but are not limited to:

• AI for Science and Science of AI

• AI-ready Data and FAIR Data for AI

• Convergence Science Frontiers

• Cyberinfrastructure for AI and Data Science

• Ethical and Responsible AI

• Open Science Data Platforms

• Education and Workforce Development for AI-enabled Sciences

Accepted contributors will be invited to present or discuss their work at the Conference and will receive travel support, including:

✔ Up to $600 for transportation to Chicago

✔ 3-night stay at the conference hotel

✔ Waiver of the registration fee

All accepted papers will be published on the Conference website for advance review by attendees.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

• Length: No more than 2 pages

• Font: Times New Roman, 11pt or larger

• Margins: At least 1 inch on all sides

• A 2-page biosketch of the attending author is also required
